Awards Judges Board Bylaws In The News Award Presenter Feedback Join Links Sponsor

We are looking for a sponsor...

The Annual WATCH Awards Presentation Ceremony is normally held on the first Sunday in March at The Birchmere in Alexandria and has consistently sold between 400 and 500 (sell out) tickets.  It honors the work of all of the participating community theaters, now over 100 productions, with more than 150 nominees in 28 categories.  It should be noted that the "honored work" was viewed by over 40,000 community theatre patrons throughout the year.

In  order to make the evening as special as previous events and affordable for everyone attending, we are looking for a sole corporate sponsor to help offset the costs of the event.

Sponsorship of this non-profit organization presents an ideal way for a company or foundation to promote arts and humanities as community building tools in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Your grant would be used to acknowledge the outstanding artistic achievements being produced every year by the community theatre groups across the metropolitan area.

A grant of $2,000 by a sponsor would help provide the trophies to be presented to the award recipients at the ceremony, the printing of formal nominations/invitations and the printing of a "playbill" for the ceremony. The money would be strictly used for these costs and leftover money would be either returned to sponsor or saved as funds for the next ceremony.

With this grant, the company or foundation would be recognized as the "sole" sponsor in all advertising (including weekly display advertising in production playbills, The Washington Post and City Paper), featured prominently in the "playbill" and would be welcome to participate in the presentation of the awards, if a representative desires.

In addition, sponsorship would be recognized in all press and calendar releases before and after the awards.

By sponsoring the WATCH awards, your company or foundation would be supporting the efforts of hundreds of community theatre artists and recognizing the outstanding artistic achievements that the Washington, D.C. area audiences have been enjoying for decades.

You are welcome to read more about the WATCH program, the adjudication process and our by-laws on this website. The website also has links to our member companies, which will give you a perspective of the geographic scope, the amount of cultural activity being produced and an idea of the "audience" you will be reaching and supporting.

If you or your company is interested in sponsoring the WATCH program in any way, please use the feedback form to contact the WATCH Board of Directors.
